Oh wonderful oxymorons!

No I didn't call you a moron. I wouldn't do that. Follow me now: An oxymoron is when you put two seemingly opposite or contradictory words together and when you do they surprisingly express a truth or dramatic effect. Oxymorons are similar to paradoxes. To that end I present to you:

Tastes Like Homade??!!??

Since that is the title of this entry let's start with that shall we?

Nice box of mashed potatoes. But not homade by any stretch of the imagination(not even if I opened the box and my grandmother climbed out stirring a bowl of this powdered stuff. I don't care what it tastes like. It ain't homade.(and at the risk of sounding like George Carlin...) I don't care if the night manager is living in the basement (does the supermarket have a basement???) cooking on a hot plate

Not unless there's a whole turkey stuffed in here and last time I checked there wasn't ! (But it's flavored with turkey pan drippings) Sorry not enough turkey for me!!!

I know that I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed, but, unless I miss my guess.....Raspberries and lemons just don't grow on the same trees or on the same plants or bushes for that matter! Speaking of all natural... This cabbage is all natural (no not the one located between my ears and on top of my shoulders)

By the way have you spied that back of this can???

Fat Free Sour Cream

If this sour cream is truly made from cream, consider this:

Cream by it's very nature is the fat in the milk from the cow. When you have products like cream, heavy cream, sour cream,butter....etc. These products are made in the process where milk is divided into two parts (homogenization- fancy word for cutting in half...basically). One part we drink as milk and the other is the fat skimmed off the top to make the above named creamy items.

SO I ASK YOU, IS THIS TRULY NATURAL CREAM? And if it is how on Earth can something fat be non fat at the same time?!!!

Did I see correctly? They want you to add margarine to that turkey stuffing? It's getting worse and worse. Whatever happened to good old-fashioned natural butter? It's like they're saying, "Here, take our unnatural product and enhance it with more fake stuff!" Ewwww.

Thanks for stopping by.The new computer works well with the camera. I just wish that some of the pix weren't so cloudy.I guess I'll work that out in time. By the way it was my mom that snapped the pix of me and the cabbage. As for the stuffing ,yes unfortunately they want you to add margarine. So now we have magarine-turkey flavored stuffing. Yum! Yum! *grrrowwl!* uh oh! I think I need to find the loo on this one!

Glad to see you are branching out, and enjoying your new computer. I had to get a new computer (my first NEW one... others were old hand-me-downs) when my Dad got me my camera. Don't foresee any big purchases though for awhile.

The part about the cream is funny - too true. Do you know, I buy that raspberry lemonade all the time and never knew it was only 13% juice. I usually read those labels so thoroughly, but was buying this regardless because it has 2 of my favorite flavors. I love it with popcorn.

I must admit.. I'm not going to lie, even at only 13% juice the raspberry lemonade is pretty good! But this is how they wind up selling it because they know the average Joe (or Jane for that matter ) doesn't usually read the label! Hey I usually don't! I'll even go so far to say that I'm the biggest junk fod eater around !! so you know i don't read a whole lot of labels. I only have started doing it more lately (and only just out of curiosity at that)

Hi synthia oh could you and Danger Girl have fun at the store! I love pointing out things like that. Made me want to grab the digi cam and run to the store myself. I have to get film developed that has all the pizza pimpers on it and post some pics. Did you say What is a pizza pimper?? You know those strange people that stand along the curb near intersections with signs advertising pizza,here we have Domino's Lil Ceasars,Hungry Howies, a few other strange ones.
